LIVE LOVE LAUGH SMILE WITH YOUR HEART AND DRINK WATER xo.
I mean it, DRINK WATER.
You’ve heard it a million times, I know and yet for some reason, people across the globe, smart educated people with the blessed access to clean drinking water are NOT drinking enough water.
I’ll keep this fast and to the point.
WHY WE NEED WATER.
1.FLUSHES OUT TOXINS– and as “healthy” as you are, you’ve got toxins. You’re breathing the smog filled air, the germs at the gym, the non organic food, the coffee, the stress…You’ve got some toxins.
- PROMOTES WEIGHT LOSS- More water before a meal means less room for overeating, raises your metabolism, and allows you to finally let go of the water retention we get when we DON’T DRINK ENOUGH WATER.
- INCREASE IN ENERGY– Our brain is comprised ( as is the rest of our body) mostly of water and by drinking adequate amounts we experience clarity, alertness and a stronger ability to focus. ( More focus means better work which could mean a raise..water will make you more money;) * I can’t promise this one but it’s worth a try
- CRAMP PREVENTION – Dehydration is a leading cause of muscle cramps and sprains. Water helps lubricate joints and maintain muscle elasticity. Have you ever been woken up with a charlie horse or foot cramp? DRINK MORE WATER!!!
- NATURAL FACE LIFT – Well pretty close, Water helps moisturize your skin, keeps it fresh soft and glowing. According to a recent study, almost 1 in 5 women who drank 1.5 litres of water per day saw a reduction in wrinkles after 6 weeks without making any other changes to their diet.
As a trainer I am ALWAYS telling my clients to DRINK MORE WATER, I swear I have this conversation daily. If you are a client of mine reading this right now, you know you’ve heard it from me and you likely will hear it again LOL
Often when women come to me with complaints of feeling puffy or soft, I’ll first ask how much water are you drinking. The answer 9 times out of 10 is “not enough” or “maybe a couple glasses a day”
Hunny your poor little body is retaining water.
***What does that mean?
Basically it means that your body is holding on to a higher level of water, sort of in fear of not getting any more. Like when your body isn’t fed enough it goes into “starvation mode” and holds on to any and everything it gets for survival.
When you are retaining water, you will feel bloated and puffy.
MY REMEDY….. You guessed it, MORE WATER.
Aim for 2 Litres a day, some people I suggest 3, I often get in 4+ in a normal day.
If you are someone who drinks little to no water in a day, start small. Do not jump to 2 litres in a day, start with 500-750 ml throughout the day.
Increase daily if you can, until you are getting in a full 2 litres from morning into the evening.
YES YOU WILL VISIT THE BATHROOM MORE THAN YOU ARE USED TO….I AM UNCONCERNED WITH THIS NEW HEALTHY REALITY OF YOURS:) Welcome to my life.
Get yourself a fun water bottle perhaps, there are lots of options out there.
Perhaps you put a timer on your phone every 15 minutes to remind you to take a drink.
Do what you have to do to get that water in, Your body will thank you.
